A

Off-line Assessment (OLA) is a built-in assessment route within Learning Platform. The OLA routine creates a space in the Learning Log where you can record marks and comments which the student will be able to read later. Use it whenever you want the student to return a piece of work to you physically, on paper into your hand.

B

First you need to create the instructions using: PIM>MyCourse>Tutor>Content>Structure>Assessments>Off-line Assessment>Add Assessment

C

Type a Title and then clear instructions in the Description box.

D

You may wish to include in the instructions:

  • Details of what to do

  • How to return the file to you in class

  • Deadline date for return of work

Alternatively, for a free essay assessment you might need to put a theme, a target number of words and details of the return process. Some wording is suggested here.

E

You must set a target time for the work.

F

You can edit the instructions later by choosing to List Assessments and then editing what you see.

G

When you have created the instructions for the Off-line Assessment you must add it to the course structure in almost the normal way - use +Item at the Chapter level.

H

When you go into the files store, use the drop-down menu to select Off-line Assessments - the instruction set you created will be on the list from where you can click .

I

Tag the file as an Assessment from the radio button icon list and click .

J

Once marked by you, the comments are visible to student and teacher in the Learning Log area.
